25. Get together with friends once a month (14/34)
Last weekend, I headed out to Long Island for Christine's bridal shower. Even though it was just us girls out there, it was nice. It's been hard to find time to get us all together, and at this point, I'll take what I can get. I foresee it being difficult for the next two months as well, with Christine's wedding, but at least that is giving us girls a night out in the city next weekend.
Here's hoping that we'll be able to get together with the boys as well soon.
On a blog that I follow, I found a reference to this challenge. Thinking that I am in a horrible rut, I decided to take the 101 in 1001 challenge.

93. Take ballet classes
When I listed this item, I figured that I would fulfill it by heading down to the city for classes, probably the Absolute Beginner's Workshop at Broadway Dance Studio. That is not what I did. I headed over to a local ballet studio for their adult class. It was a lot harder than I remember, I've been away longer than I realized. I am definitely going to be feeling this tomorrow. But it was worth it, and I am so glad that I had this on my list to motivate me to actually go. I'm going to try to make it a habit to go weekly, maybe even to some of the weeknight classes. The studio is basically across the street, which makes it very convenient. Although for the other dance classes, I'll probably end up having to head down to the city.
One more item down.

February Status Update
At least this update is on time, even if I've fallen behind on everything else.
I'm not sure where I went wrong this month. I am for the most part keeping up with the 365 Project, which is the one good thing for this month. I still haven't finished my books, and to add insult to injury, I'm pretty sure that I now owe late fees at the library. I'm hoping to finish them soon, although I doubt that I will before I next head across town.
While we did cook a lot more at home, we didn't use any new recipes, and only brought out the slow cooker once. I'm planning to change that in March. The fact that I'm now doing most of the grocery shopping will hopefully help with that.
I did not finish any task, which means that I've fallen behind on the goal of twelve this year (only two months in). There is one that I anticipate completing within the week, but I thought that it would get finished in February, so you never know. Hopefully, I'll catch up on this goal, or maybe even get ahead this month.

19. Use the crockpot for dinner sixty times (12/60)
Thursday I brought back out the slow cooker in an effort to curb our eating out habit. I make the pulled pork that I've made before. At least I tried to. For some reason, it didn't pull, and was therefore more like bbq pork. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but it will probably be a little while before I try that recipe again. Hopefully, I'll be trying some new slow cooker recipes soon, I feel that we need a little more variety in our diets.
I didn't take any pictures because I was really too hungry to wait. Hopefully the next meal will be more photo inspiring.

January Status Update
This post is a little late. By a little, I mean over a week. Which means that (in theory) there will be another post like this in less than three weeks.
The year has gotten off to a slow start. I did complete one item, which keeps me on track with my resolutions. I have also been keeping up with my Project 365, getting the pictures up in a day or two if not on time.
Other than that, I've been falling behind and I'm hoping to turn that around in February. I have two books that I'm working on for book clubs this month, so hopefully I'll get them finished in time. I am also planning to cooking more, which should lead to some new recipes and bringing out the slow cooker again.
Here's to hoping that the cold of February helps me to get some of these indoor items finished.

25. Get together with friends once a month (13/34)
Tonight we headed into the city to watch the Super Bowl at Christine and Tedd's apartment. It was a lot of fun to get out, and I was so impressed with how well Peter held up so far past his bed time. While we weren't rooting for any particular team, we all had a lot of fun.
It's been too long since we've gotten together with friends, hopefully we won't have to wait that long again.

42. Attend Sunday services at least twice a month (24/68)
While we were in England, we took Grandma to church. It was a wonderful service, and I am so glad that we were able to get her there.

21. Visit Grandma for her 100th birthday
The three of us just returned from our trip to England for Grandma's 100th birthday. It was wonderful to get to see her, but it was way too short of a trip. Hopefully our next trip will be longer.

Happy 2011!
I thought that 2009 went quickly, but it was nothing compared to 2010. Last year I had very vague resolutions, which made it hard to track. While I don't want to add too much to my plate, since I am already having a hard time managing my time, I do want to be a bit more specific. Here are my resolutions for 2011, and how they tie into this challenge.
This weekend, I am going to be going through the list and updating anything that I may have forgotten. I am also thinking that I will be giving this blog a face lift (and possibly my other blogs as well). I am getting tired of some of these looks, and will probably change things up a little.
I hope that everyone had a happy 2010, and that 2011 turns out even better!
- Start a Project 365 blog, and finish the year. This project is going to help me with # 99.
- Take better care of myself. In order to take care of others, I need to take care of myself. One step in doing that is working out, which ties into # 96. While currently I am the smallest size that I've ever been, I won't be on this dairy-free diet forever. Better to build the healthy habits now, and maybe I'll be able to stay in shape once my diet gets a little relaxed. This will also probably tie into # 20, as I try to make healthier meals for us.
- Complete twelve items on the list by the end of the year. That allows me to finish one item a month, in addition to working on the revolving items. Hopefully, I won't be rushing to finish all twelve in December.
- Keep my blogs updated. This doesn't really tie into anything from this challenge, but it is something that I want to do.

25. Get together with friends once a month (12/34)
Last night Christine and Tedd came up to celebrate New Years with us. It was a quiet evening where we went out to dinner, and then watched the ball drop on TV. Very different from years past, but nice to just get to relax with some friends.
