January 2013 Update

So the year is off to a decent start, especially with the meal planning and new recipes. So far The Fresh 20 experiment has been pretty successful. We have yet to make every meal (something always seems to come up), but we have been liking what we've made so far. It hasn't lowered our grocery costs, but we still have some wrinkles to iron out in the grocery shopping arrangement. I forgot to update the meatless meals that we've had so far with the plan, the twice baked pizza potatoes and the garlic mushroom linguini, so I've gone back and tagged these posts and updated the master list.

Other than that, the big push we've been making this month is getting ready for the baby. I haven't made much progress on my resolutions as far as completing items, but I have been keeping up with Peter's 365 project. I haven't been able to get photos of him every day (FAIL), but I have taken photos that represent him on the days that I was missing.

I'm hoping that the beginning of February is a little more productive, since I really don't see the end of February doing this list any favors.

Happy 2013!

Just like that, a new year is starting. And what a huge year it will be with a new baby coming early in the year. With a new year comes new resolutions, although they might not seem all that new.

  • Do two 365 Projects, one starting today and one starting with the arrival of Baby B. I'll be doing these a little differently than last time, it will be one for each child. I wish that I had known about this project when Peter was born, it would be great to have that record (not that I don't have a ton of pictures of him from the first year, just not every day). The links to these projects will be on the right under "My Other Projects".
  • Complete twelve items on the list. I did this in 2011 and I thought that it worked pretty well, so I'm going to try it again.
  • Keep my blogs up to date. I also might give them a bit of a facelift, but I seem to say that every year.

Since I know that this is going to a busy year, I don't want to over burden myself (anymore than I already have with the full list) so my resolutions will be short.

Here is to an amazing 2013!

83. Keep my New Years resolutions (2/2)

I wasn't so very great with this item, and not all of them were completed by the end of December, but I am still going to count this as complete, as it is basically done now.

I did finish my 365 Project, although not quite on time. Over the course of the year, I only missed taking pictures on five days, which is a lot better than I thought I would do. I was also not so great at keeping my blogs updated, this one here being the worst (as I am finally getting to December's posts now that we are in May). I was pretty good with the baby and family blogs.

I did finish more than twelve items by the end of the year, and I was much better at taking care of myself, at least as far as cooking and working out went (sleeping, not so much).

Still, one more item down!

August Status Update

The 365 Project is still going strong, even if some days I don't take the best pictures, I have been taking at least one every day.

I have also been going to the gym pretty regularly this month, but I want it to last a little longer before I mark # 96 as complete.

As for the rest of my new years resolution, I only have five complete where I should have eight at this point. My goal for September is to finish at least three items so that I can start catching up.

We have started going back to church, even though we only made it once this month because of the weather. I have also been making the Slow Cooker Macaroni and Beef every week, which has really helped with my slow cooker goals. We are starting to get into more of a routine, which will hopefully help with the other recurring items as well.

June Status Update

The 365 project is still going strong, updated through the holiday weekend. There have been a few days where I felt that there was nothing for me to post, and then there were days where I wished I could post ten pictures

I actually made it to church one Sunday this month, which is not nearly as much as I would like, but still better than I had been doing. I'm hoping to make it more in the summer, with the sun waking me up so early.

The only item that I have seemed to have done a good job with last month is the reading, which I believe had a lot to do with not being able to get up. Sometimes it is very good to not have a tv in your bedroom.

I am still one item behind on my new year's resolution, but I would like to try to do some of the outdoor items this month, so hopefully I will be able to catch up.

Happy 2011!

I thought that 2009 went quickly, but it was nothing compared to 2010. Last year I had very vague resolutions, which made it hard to track. While I don't want to add too much to my plate, since I am already having a hard time managing my time, I do want to be a bit more specific. Here are my resolutions for 2011, and how they tie into this challenge.

  • Start a Project 365 blog, and finish the year. This project is going to help me with # 99.
  • Take better care of myself. In order to take care of others, I need to take care of myself. One step in doing that is working out, which ties into # 96. While currently I am the smallest size that I've ever been, I won't be on this dairy-free diet forever. Better to build the healthy habits now, and maybe I'll be able to stay in shape once my diet gets a little relaxed. This will also probably tie into # 20, as I try to make healthier meals for us.
  • Complete twelve items on the list by the end of the year. That allows me to finish one item a month, in addition to working on the revolving items. Hopefully, I won't be rushing to finish all twelve in December.
  • Keep my blogs updated. This doesn't really tie into anything from this challenge, but it is something that I want to do.

This weekend, I am going to be going through the list and updating anything that I may have forgotten. I am also thinking that I will be giving this blog a face lift (and possibly my other blogs as well). I am getting tired of some of these looks, and will probably change things up a little.

I hope that everyone had a happy 2010, and that 2011 turns out even better!

83. Keep my New Years resolutions (1/2)

This year, I went very simple with my resolutions.

First, I wanted to keep up with my inbox. While I haven't been perfect with that at all, I have been so much better than in the past. I might have been helped by Gmail's Priority Inbox, but you use the tools that you have.

Second, I wanted to keep up with this blog. Again, I haven't been perfect, but considering my attention span, I've done pretty well. I'm not as far along on a lot of items as I had hoped, but I am still trying.

I am counting the first full year of this item as complete, knowing that it is an ongoing project. We'll see how I hold up next year.

Happy New Year!!!

So, it is 2010. Which is strange, since 2009 seemed to just fly by. With a new year comes new resolutions. I've thought about it, and I really only have two that I am going to work on this year.

The first is that I want to keep up with my inbox. Being a procrastinator, I constantly have emails that I want to respond to or follow up on that I never seem to get to. I also have emails that I want to write to people that I haven't talked to in a while. I want to get into the habit of not letting that build up.

The other thing is that I want to keep up with this blog. There are so many items to accomplish on here that I didn't think that I needed an entire new list to slow me down. This weekend I plan on going through the list and updating any items that I may have missed. Then I am going to really start focusing on the list and working on getting stuff done. I'm hoping that I will be able to get into a routine for the repeating items before everything gets complicated in April. I am also hoping that this routine will make it easier for me to work on the items that aren't repeating and that I will be more likely to get them done.

So here is to a happy and productive new year!
